The Morning Rush x2!

Do you listen to the radio every morning while preparing for school or going to work? Well I do. And I specifically listen to Monster Radio (RX 93.1)'s Morning Rush hosted by the brilliant Duo: Chico and Delamar. Every segment they have what they call "Top 10" where the topic of that day is talked about listeners text their funniest or weirdest anwers and thus broken into Top 10 every 30 Min. of the show. Of course aside from the Top 10 sharing (w/c is about a funny toppic most of the time), great music plays in the background too! (Do you really think RX would go... "alam mo na yan!" "Naka _ _ _ _ ka na ba?" Pleeaaasse! This is some quality station here!)

The funny and witty veteran radio and newspaper commentators keep my ears glued to their various topics every morning, most of the time making me and my household laugh out loud. Best thing about it is, a fan by the name of Blue Ritz uploads their Morning Rush segment everyday so I catch up to those topics I get to miss.

I don't know if this is illegal or not, but thanks to Blue Ritz for recording the Morning Rush! XD

Listen to their various topics everyday and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too! :D

Morning Rush airs at 6 am -9am, Mondays To Saturdays.
(And no, I am not paid to advertise this. XP)

Twilight Premieres tomorrow!

The much anticipated new hype since Harry Potter finally premieres tomorrow, Nov. 25 in Cinemas. Got an idea what I'm talking about? Of course it's no other than the hit novel Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.

Starring Kristen Stewart (Cold Creek Manor, Panic Room;) as Belle and Robert Pattinson (who finally got his break by starring in his own movie after dying in Harry Potter Goblet of Fire as Cedric Diggory) as the vampire Edward Cullen.

I haven't read the novel yet to be honest (crap) but it's too late for me to start reading it so I might as well watch it and see if it catches enough attention to make me read the novel again. I'm not really a fan of Vampire stories (a.k.a. Anne Rice, but i like Blade though!) so I'm hoping this modern-day love story of a vampire and human doesn't "SUCK"... if you know what I mean. XD

Music Overload: A Dash of Everything

There's a bunch of new hits out and I'm tapping into different genres for everyone's liking...or not. It's an overload of music and all you have to do is read and listen.

Starting off with the usual Pop, here's two previous girls with issues: Britney Spears is back and sexy once again in Womanizer and Christina Aguilera goes blue hair and modish vid in Keeps Getting Better. It's catchy, mind you. XD

Next is Pop-Emo band Fall Out Boy singing I Don't Care.

There's also one up for
Emo-Punk and it's probably from one of the best band of that genre, here's My Chemical Romance letting it be with Kill All Your Friends!

(There's no video for this yet unfortunately, but the audio alone makes me go ba-ba-baaa~!)

And of course Punk is part of the list, and this one is coming from the sountrack of the upcming movie slash hit novel, Twilight. Here's Paramore's I Caught Myself

This song has a more catchy tune than the other soundtrack Decode but I'm throwing in the Official Music Vid of it for your appreciation as well.

So what's the best alternative to Punk? It's no other than Alternative and unfortunately, i couldn't find anything latest from the usual bands of this genre but I do have a bit of a mushy-like song, it's Love Remains the Same from Gavin Rossdale, former lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Bush. FYI, he's Gwen Stefani's hubby if you didn't know.

There's still more in the list and Rap/Hip-Hop is next featuring Kanye West. He currently has 3 songs topping the charts but I prefer to share to you his Love Lockdown.

After the light rap, here's something hardcore from Rapcore (Rock Rap / Metal) from Hollywood Undead's Undead (Yeah that's the title of the song). Although I'm not a fan of this genre, I did like it though...except for the vid. Warning: Explicit content. Watch at your own expense.

Moving on, it's juts not all foreign music I'm featuring. Including this OPM that has become a part of my most favorite songs of all time, here's the latest from comeback-singer, Rico Blanco's Your Universe.

"I don't think that you even realize
The joy you make me feel when i'm inside
Your universe
You hold me like i'm the one who's precious
I hate to break it to you but its just
The other way around
You can thank your stars all you want but
I'll always be the lucky one"

*Sniff* This song makes me feel inlove!~XD

Lastly, here's the Opening song of my favorite Mecha-infused anime, Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure. (Fact: I didn't like Gundam nor Macross =.="I like Voltes V and Daimos though! XD)

I sooo miss watching this anime! :( (Hmm, should I make an anime review of this?:D)

...Well that's all of it! I told you i'd tap almost every genre! ^_^v

Bleach: RANTS & ...RANTS?!

We all know how much a hit Bleach has become. It definitely has a fairly unique storyline although Shinigami's (Death Gods) and abilities are an over-rated tandem in anime.

If you're watching this anime, you'd probably have an idea what i'm about to rant. If you haven't, better go through the anime first then I think you'd agree with me (lol).

I like Bleach. I really do! Ever since it first came out, I already got hooked and even had advanced reading of the storyline through the manga. I'm no Bleach geek though (I just download the episodes and OST) and that's it. But just because i'm no hardcore fan doesn't mean I don't have a say to the infuriating things I notice.

First is the obvious part. Bleach fans fell inlove with the story because of the storyline concerning Aizen and his band of exiled Shinigamis. As the story progressed, there were a lot of breath taking episodes... Then there were the fillers.

The filler stories in Bleach are like the lamest, yes LAMEST! fillers in the entire anime industry! I mean, those stories don't even make sense and is just a waste of download time and effort to watch it! As if the fillers connect to the main story anyway! I actually thought that if there was an official Bleach website (If there is, kindly share it) I'll flood the rant folder. >:) Well, not really flood, I'm no flamer lol.... Just wanted to have a clear explanation on why fillers almost show up and dominate half the whole series of Bleach. I don't even get the point why they include that! I mean, the artist or script writer could have just exerted the effort of continuing the story rather than making boring episodes about some ghost chef who'se lost in the living world making cupcakes... sheez! =.=" Good thing the manga somehow progresses and doesn't contain trash stories.

Bottom line is, We want Aizen!!! (Oh and give Kon some airtime too! XD)

Second rant is, (although I'm not sure if others would think this isn't something to fuss about), it's about the constant helplessness of the supposedly 'strong' character in Bleach... Inoue. Her constant sobbing of 'Kurosaki-kun!' whenever Ichigo gets beaten up is sooooo annoying! For the whole episode (take ep. 195) all she said the whole time was 'Kurosaki-kun' *sad, fears, sobs, sad,fears,sobs... * =.="! If she wasn't so weak, Ichigo won't get beaten in the first place. Rescuing the princess is such an over-rated story and I think Bleach is getting somewhere without having to include this kind of situation. I just can't help but wonder why Inoue gets to be so popular in the story though... Does her BIG bazonkers / BIG valleys / GINORMOUS mellon grenades (Quoting Lance) she keeps give her the leverage?! Hmmm... I'm starting to think Aizen isn't really interested with her healing powers at all.... Bwahaha! Hmmm.... *evil thought* Come on! Tell me you don't agree on this one?! >:)

I bet you first looked at her BIG BANKAI. >:)

And last but not least, I think Ichigo is going waaaay beyond being a hero already. It's nice that he keeps on protecting his friends and the like, but his gallantry is becoming a bit too exaggerated to the point that he talks a lot, charges a lot, and ends up getting his butt kicked or saved by some miracle or twist of the story. Take for example, (spoiler as it could be), there's Zengetsu at first, then the Vizards, out came Ichigo-hollow form, then Nel in true form, Zaraki Kempachi took the death blow for him and obviously his friends are part of the list and so is shockingly, Byakuya! <3>

Ichigo is cool as he already is, keeping a low profile like Byakuya or Hitsugaya could be a start. ;-p

After all that's been said, what's left to do is to sit and wait as each week pass by for the next episode releases, hoping my rant list won't get any longer than this. =.="

Apathetic expressions enters dictionary

Here's an interesting news:

Apathetic expressions (or Having or showing little or no emotion) such as 'hmm' and 'heh' have entered the famous Collins English Dictinary after 'generating a surprising amount of enthusiasm among lexicographers' (One who writes, compiles, or edits a dictionary).

Even the popular expression 'Meh' from The Simpsons will be part of the updated dictionary to be published next year!

"The origins of "meh" are murky, but the term grew in popularity after being used in a 2001 episode of "The Simpsons" in which Homer suggests a day trip to his children Bart and Lisa.

"They both just reply 'meh' and keep watching TV," said Cormac McKeown, head of content at Collins Dictionaries.

The dictionary defines "meh" as an expression of indifference or boredom, or an adjective meaning mediocre or boring. Examples given by the dictionary include "the Canadian election was so meh."

"Meh."

Other suggestions included jargonaut - a fan of jargon; frenemy - an enemy disguised as a friend (LOL!); and huggles, a hybrid of hugs and snuggles."

(Source here.)

Now you've learned some of the few not-so-conventional words (as it might have been popularized by internet forums or slangs too), it's great to see how language still evolves and people tend to make new words and still get understood! XD

Hmm, I wonder... who first suggested 'LOL', 'LMAO', 'RTOFL', 'PWND', 'NOOB'?! Can I invent my own word too? XD Say..."Bluggish" - Blogger's sickness; A lazy blogger.
...Meh!=))

R&B and the evolving MTV's!

It's Music Highlights on the latest R&B again because those music just keeps on coming and the videos are finally showing us something fresh!

Cassie's tired of being the unofficial girl in her new single (after a long time!) Official Girl.

After 1,2 Step, we haven't heard from sexy Ciara anymore. But she's back as the 'energized playboy bunny' with Go Girl ft. T-Pain. She finally breaks out of those usual Girl-on-the-block vids, and trust me, this modern vid from her is probably just the start and we're hoping to see more! (Although one of her metallic costumes also reminded me of the movie Queen of the Damned)

Usher lessens the dance moves and showcases some mighty sexy vid in Trading Places.

Lastly, Beyonce constantly releases refined songs and now sings for the all those Single Ladies (is this an answer to New Kids on The Block's song, Single? XD).

This vid seemed to be unlike Beyonce's other vids since the whole time she was just dancing. Yet the outcome was still great together with the simple Black & White efect, I just noticed she's taken a liking to it (since If I Were A Boy vid was also like this).

I'll try to divert the next MH to different genres but for now, I gotta get some rest! *Sleeps at work with Clay Aiken on the BG* LOL! (Just kidding about sleeping at work leh! =.=")

Super Mario is not dead!

Do you remember the time when Super Mario was ever so popular in the Nintendo Family Computer? Then it had a NES version, released in Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, had a 50 cent-Arcade, then invaded Game boy (Color & Advanced) and recently in DS and Wii. But not so long ago when the computer was the 'new' platform for gaming, the Mario Brothers has also continued to evolve, adapt, occupy and well, continue to rescue Princess Peach in PC gaming!

Super Mario Bro's (c) 1985.
Platform: Famicom/NES
(Crap, it's older than me! =.=")

I missed the time I was playing Super Mario World in Famicom... Yes, 1993 Famicom! XD It was definitely a long adventure with it's 72 stages (From Yoshi's Land to Star World) and honestly, I really didn't get to finish it and again, save the always-kidnapped princess. XD

Super Mario World (c) 1990.
Platform: Super Famicom

And since it's impossible for someone not to know Super Mario game (or unless you were born yesterday), I won't dig deeper on this over-rated but well-reputed game. Instead, I'd rather share you some of the not-so-classic version of Super Mario Bro's and relive the days when Yoshi-riding, mushroom stomping, Spin-jumping, Fire flower, Castle blowing (...you get the point) was as cool as getting the Sparkling Invincible Star!

Searching through the web, I found some some interesting sites that offers Super Mario PC Games. Although I seriously doubt you'll like the graphics (since nothing much has changed since the NES release), if you just really want to try out Mario and Luigi again, wouldn't hurt to try right?

From Free-Games.com: Super Mario PC Challenge 6
I wouldn't expect much if I were you. XD

From PC World: Super Mario: FINAL
Trustworth site, lame graphics for the game. LOL.

From Acid-Play.com: Super Mario 3: Mario Forever
A 9 out of 10 rating (By players), I couldn't be too sure if it's an almost-perfect game for the PC version... haven't downloaded it myself. But it looks interesting... meh.

From Gametop.com: Super Mario Forever
...Now this is what I want to play! (No pun or biase intended) :D

And to sum it up, If your craving for Super Mario Bro's wasn't quenched by a quick PC Game, there's always the nicer version released in DS, well, that is if you have one. =.="

Oh and you could look for the classic games where Princess Peach or Yoshi is the main character you play... Just for a change. XP

How I Met Your Mother

.
If you couch potatoes are looking for a new series to watch, well, not really 'new', but something alternative to Pushing Daisies, Heroes Season 4 or Sex and The City (probably),
How I Met Your Mother is one good choice to add to your TV marathon.

This sitcom is like a modern-like version of F-r-i-e-n-d-s, only the story starts in the year 2030 where the main character, Ted Mosby, recounts to his son and daughter the events that led to his meeting their mother.

Friends and How I Met Your Mother - The same?
...NOT!

Although I haven't gone far with the episodes of Season 1, I find it something I'd like to bum about because their scripts actually crack me up! The light humor is very entertaining and at the same time relaxing (Ohh, what work does to me. =.="). But honestly, I'm a bit annoyed with the fact that I haven't known of this TV series before. It's actually currently running on episode 08 of Season... 4 already! This American Situation Comedy first aired back in September 19 of 2005. ...Told you it wasn't that new. T_T But like the saying goes, better late than never right? XD

You can watch the episodes here at their Official Site.

I heard The Big Bang Theory sitcom is nice too. I'd probably bum at it this christmas vacation together with a lot of shows I've been meaning to review. Woohoo! +1 to the fats! XD

"Be Joyful Always"

"Be Joyful Always."

The Bible won't say "Be joyful only when you've got the figure of Jennifer Lopez" even if you eat like sumo wrestler Takanohana.

The Bible won't say "Be joyful only when you're young, healthy, brimming with energy, slender & athletic."

The Bible says "Be Joyful Always".

...And that's a wrap!

(Okay, so I can't think of a better title for this next Music Highlights. =.=") Might as well get to business and pump this post up!

Katy Perry falls inlove with a guy who wears more make-up than she does in this unusual song called Ur So Gay (And you don't even like boys!) 'Tis really funny. XD

Natasha Bedingfield sings A-N-G-E-L in what seems as another one of those singles that appeal to pop-genre lovers. I like her vid, it's how I wanted my own music vid to look like... If ever I am a singer that is. :p

Sexy diva Beyonce wishes "If I Were a Boy" in this commendable song. Indeed, she tells the things girls would do if they were in the guy's shoes. The whole black and white vid is very dramatic too. Simple and suitable.

Then there's Alicia Keys and Jack White of The White Stripes singing for 007's Quantum of Solace in their song Another way to die.

Good thing the vid reached my expectations of it having vectors and nice effects, much like how the movie itself was in the start of the reel. *James Bond BMG* XD

Last stop, Boy Band New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) reunites to make a comeback, still being the true example of what we regarded as the 'Boy Band' genre. If you didn't know, NKOTB isn't "new" actually... and they ain't no kids too!O_O" They're a famous 80's boy band so don't get too suprised if you see matured Backstreet Boys-like guys in this vid!XD Here's NKOTB squading with Ne Yo in their R&ampB song Single.

If you know LFO, you might heard NKOTB from them. XD

"New Kids On The block, had a bunch of hits
Chinese food makes me sick.
And I think it's fly when girls stop by for the summer, for the summer
I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch,
I'd take her if I had one wish
But she's been gone since that summer...
Since that summer"

Cactus theft: LOL!

This is just one of those news I just had to LOL about!

Giant Cactuses are being stolen in Palm Desert and is sold for $800. When the officials finally notice the decreasing number in Cacti, they implant surveillance cameras and microchips in the remaining spine plants to be able to keep track of it. Although this cactus theft is a serious topic, I just can't help but laugh about the thought that whoever started this Cactus-napping (lol) really thought out of the box! Sometimes stupid ideas really get you somewhere! XD

And so while the thief is making a pot of gold somewhere, Cactuar swears revenge for his stolen army! *1,000,000 needles! = 999,999 damage!* PWNED!=))

Have you seen my wife?
(Awww, poor Cactus! :c)

Read more about that news here.

Something to ponder about:

"What if your greatest mistake is your greatest happiness?

Will you stand to correct it or just hope that you won't live to regret it?"

...'Tis a tough one to answer for me.

The one about that writing hobby

For all the writers and writer-wanna-be: Write, write, write!

Some tips from the not-so-best-writer around

My office mate asked me to teach him how to write. I pondered and told tell him my habit on how I make my own article, blog or simply doodling words to be able to come up with random topics to write about.

I think everyone can write. It's just that there are some who are born to be one or has honed their skills through continuous writing. It's not even an issue whether this skill is inherited or not since I'm the only one in the long line of my family who has love for writing. My brother is just starting to bring out his skills just after I have been constantly publishing some of my works.

I don't know which of the two established my ability, but might as well put it to another good use by giving some tips to those who want to hone their skills too.

1) Read.

Even if you read only one category, say newspaper or FHM (=.=), it doesn't really matter what you read. Reading could give you ideas on what you want to write about. It also helps in seeing other people's writing composition and eventually pick it up and evolve it to your own. Like they say, You are what you read.

(If you wanna know, I'm a novel bookworm. I started reading Hardy Boys back in GS then went for Sidney Sheldon (May he rest in peace) and James Patterson who has greatly influenced my writing composition (Minus the "sexy" parts. XD). I'm currently inlove with Neil Gaiman and his insanely great ideas although I still have a long way before I write like him.)

See? You really don't have to idolize Edgar Allan Poe or Jose Rizal just to be a writer! You're the one who makes a name for yourself! :)

2) Write.

Of course one would really get nowhere without constant writing and practice. Write down your thoughts however jumbled they may be. It's from there you could start to fix the puzzle and make a story out of it. Just try to lessen superfluous words. You want your readers to READ... not get nosebleed. XD

3) Ask someone to give you constructive criticisms.

You'll really never know your fault or wrong grammaring (LOL) without asking someone to see it for you. My parents were my first editors until i finally submit my first article to the Kiddie newspaper I first wrote for and saw the final outcome. My 200 word-article turned into 80. LOL! XD

4) Study .

Well in my case, I picked the Journalism course (now you know) to fully hone the skill that I have started ever since I was young. I learned from books, teachers and fellow writers. I can't say I'm a good writer already, but I just keep on writing for the love of it.

I could say intermmediate English would suffice just to fully give one a grasp of all those writing rules and what-not's. Self help books might help too. :D

5) Blue's Clues anyone?

It's not about the blue dog or their mail... mail... maiiiiil! (XD) It's their "thinking notebook" that's very handy dandy specially when one thinks of an idea and doesn't even have a notebook (and pen for that matter) to pour out what they are currently brainstorming. Well if you have super memory, you might be able to wait 'til you get home to type in all those ideas. But then again, any piece of material that's writable enough would do, take for example J.K. Rowling who started Harry Potter in an ice cream tissue paper! XD

6) Last but not least, DO NOT FORGE.

This is like the unforgivable sin in writing. If you want to write about something and you got most words from someone else, it's not shameful to inform them as your source. It not only gives that person the right to his or her intellectual property, but it also shows that you DO read to broaden your thoughts and eventually incorporate them on your own article.

That's all I can think of right now. I hope it's useful to those who want to have this passion or simply as a hobby. For those who already know how to write, maybe you could share your own tips too! :)

If you want to write, just write! No language or inability should hold one down. Heck, writing in a personal Diary is considered a step already! What's important is that you get to express your thoughts and or opinion write? errr... right? XD

From a news article I read about the comic artists of Trese and what they have to say about writing: (from Manila Bulletin, Nov. 1, 2008: G-1 Section)

"Don't let comic books just be the only source of inspiration for your stories.
Read anything you can get your hands on.
Finding inspiration from life. When you fall in love,
write down how it felt, try to describe it to a five-year old.
Watch a band perform for the first time in some hole in the wall
and remember how the singer stuttered and how his sweat
glistened on his forehead. Talk to your parents what
they dreamed about when they were kids.
Talk to the kids about what they're most afraid of.
And after that, go back and write."

Very inspirational if I might say. :)

Sing to that Anime tune!

I really can't understand most of the words, least watched their anime! But once an anime fan, always an anime fan. Here are some featured Anime OST which I personally haven't watched yet, but i simply loved the tune despite randomly hearing it somewhere. =D

First off, here's a kawaii song from the anime Chobits, Let me Be With You... (Chiii~)

Next off , here's the full version of I say YES! from the anime Zero no Tsukaima. Honestly this anime attracted me. I'll watch in the future and hopefully make a review about it! ;)

Prepare for Hataw Hanep Hero 4!

It's time once again for a myriad of interest: Music, Technology, Sports, arts and most dominantly, anime.

Hero TV's 4th once-a-year remarkable event, Hataw Hanep Hero – The Amped Edition, will happen this Nov. 21-22, Friday and Saturday (Yep, a FRIDAY) at Silver City Mall, Pasig City!

If you’ve been to previous HHH events, you’d probably know what’s in store for you. But then again, Hero TV tries to make each year’s event better than the last with more showcase, freebies, bands and off course, cosplayers! (Woohoo! Showcase me some reverse harem! XD)

How to get to Silver City:
(from
http://www.atmaxplorer.com/2008/11/hataw-hanep-hero-the-amped-edition-h4/)

“From North Bound lane of edsa turn right to intersection where Edsa Shrine is (beside Rob Galleria). That road will pass thru Meralco , Medical City , Home Depot , vicinity of Valle Verde and last, there’s this village looking entrance with fountain & a big round monument thingy… turn right to that road (you’re now entering tiendesitas). this comes BEFORE the intersection with the overpass…Then just go straight you’ll see SM Hypermarket on the left & on the right side is Silver City (it’s just the building across SM) it looks like a smaller version of SMX… ^-^

Another route will be if you’re coming from Q, UP diliman, Mirriam College & Ateneo (along katipunan ave), Blue Ridge village, Eastwood City, then go straight and you’ll end up seeing the intersection with overpass & then Tiendesitas then next to it ung SM Hepermarket. Don’t turn left din, you might get lost and end up in Marikina.”

I don’t know the place myself, but heck, there’s always the taxi right? XD

If I get my costume done on time, I might *cough* COSPLAY *cough* for fun.
Video Girl Ai Joan anyone? *evil laugh*

Don't forget to charge & load yer cellphones, extra g's and a camera! See you fellow-enthusiasts there! ^_^

Obama comes to save the world

I may not be into Politics, but the U.S. Presidential Election is suppose to be an issue to everyone mainly because America itself affects the rest of the world.

And with history's first Black-American President Barack Obama elected, change is surely inevitible. Philippines, and so the rest of the world is looking forward to how Obama's period in power would bring hopefully, greater GOOD change.

God Speed Obama!
