Genre: Drama, Supernatural, Sci-fi

Synopsis:

In 1958, an elementary class is asked to draw pictures of what they think is going to happen in the next 50 years. It was sealed in a time capsule for the "future" kids to open it. 50 years later, a new generation of students examines the contents of the time capsule and a cryptic message falls in the hands of young Caleb Myles (Chandler Canterbury) .

As Caleb's dad--Professor Ted Myles (
Nicolas Cage) examines the numbers, he makes a startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major global disasterfor past 50 years. And as he further unravels the document's secrets and forewarning which falls on deaf ears, he realizes the message still foretells three additional events happening within the next few days and ultimately brings the question... "what happens when the numbers run out"?

"This gripping supernatural thriller charts one man's faltering steps towards belief in the ultimate order of the universe even as he finds himself surrounded by mounting chaos. Ted's increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster--and the ultimate sacrifice." - http://www.themovieinsider.com/m2394/knowing/

Taken: Movie Review

If you're into action movies but is getting tired of the same-old
James Bond/Mission Impossible-like movies where basically, a lot of things gets impossibly blown here and there, then here's an action movie for a change.

"Taken" is something closer to reality. This movie revolves on CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) who retires from the Black Ops to give time to his 17-year-old daughter, Kim (Magie Grace). The longest 96 hours of Bryan's life happens when her daughter is kidnapped in broad daylight by an Albanian gang involved in Human Trafficking. Promising to kill the kidnappers, he has 4 days to track and save her daughter before she ultimately vanishes.

With only his expertise and experience, he faces his worst nightmares and let nothing stop him from saving what's left of him.

Released just this week, Taken promises an hour and a-half hour of fast-paced action sequence and a Paternal love unlike other!

Movie Rating: 8.5/10 (10 being highest)

Swoosh Dance Battle

Groove for the win or cheer for your team in Nike Women's Dance Battle competition happening this March 21st (Saturday), 5pm at A.Venue Hall, Makati City!

Being a dancer (before), I know the contestants have poured much sweat, body aches and effort to do the best they can once they do the moves, so give it up for the following colleges who will be participating and who will be transformed:

- Lyceum University
- Mapua College
- Letran College
- Far Eastern University
- Assumption College
- Miriam College
- Ateneo De Manila
- Central Colleges of the Philippines
- La Consolacion College (My school in HS!)
- University of Sto. Tomas
- San Sebastian College
- University of the Philippines

Your school might be part of this big event, and if there's one thing I learned about winning, it's just not about the choreography or how unique each step gets. It's the cheers you get that gives each dancers the motivation to awe the audience (and I meant "wow" them ot "aww" them!). And no matter how much you cheer for your team, if you find the competitor gaining more audience impact, you just don't notice it but you cheer for them and would like them to win (no matter how loyal you maybe to your team)!

Admission is FREE on this event.
Visit http://nikewomen.com.ph/dancebattle/ for more details.

Flava of the month!

Two amazing performers have graced our country with their upcoming tour concerts this March 26 & 27!

5-time Grammy Award winning soul Singer, song writer, pianist John Legend performs on the 26th, 8pm at the Araneta Coliseum, featuring his new and seemingly better (than the previous) album, Evolver.

The day after, multi-award winning British R&B superstar who's responsible for chart-topping hits such as Fill Me In, 7 Days, Unbelievable, Don't Love You No More, What's Your Flava? and other more big hits now including recent single Insomnia will be the Flava of the month as Craig David invades Manila on the 27th!

Hi shot new look in Insomnia makes his comeback soemthing to watch out for as it seems like he could go head-to-head with current R&B hot performers like Neyo or Chris Brown (if he still ever picks up the pace after the scandal).

Here's Craig before in Rise & Fall ft. Sting:

Here he is now (minus the beard) in a groovier tune in Insomnia:

Must-have-V.I.P-passes! *crawls* XD

Tickets are available at all ticketnet outlets.

Perya Gala: After event

So I got to attend the Perya Gala event last Friday (March 6) and witnessed for myself the 50 fabulous, Circus-themed, couture avant-garde collection created by young and funky Happy Andrada.

Her hard worked wardrobes were colorful, fresh and modish and sophisticated at the same time which is enough to compete and success in the fast-paced world of Fashion. Together with Dennis Celestial and Hat Momma's work, the Perya feel--from stage to wardrobe was
definitely brought to life!

I look forward to more of Happy's amazing concepts and talent [and uberly wishing I get to ramp it too! Haha! :D]

Special mention to newly found friends and fellow Journalist Sam and Jonathan from Business Mirror. Thanks for sharing the Media's seat! I wouldn't have been able to watch the event up close! :D

For more [un-edited] pics I took of the event, visit my flickr!
(I know they're not that good of a shot unlike Jonathan's but please ask for permission if you're going to copy/use the pictures)

Congratulations Happy for a wonderful showcase of unique and eccentric--yet fashionable and wearable outfits well, for event-themes at least. :)
