Games to the 3rd power: FTW!

.
I've been out of the gaming world for some quite time... well if we're talking about the likes of some iTouch games like Frosting or Plants vs. Zombies in PC or NightClub City in Facebook apps, I do play them... not as much as how I want to try these 3 upcoming games though! Here are the teasers for DJ Max Portable, Patapon and Marvel vs. Capcom to the 3rd power!!!

DJ Max Portable 3 will be back this year in PSP and we can expect more awesome beats to follow and complete the music!

Kami then spoke and said let there be... Patapon 3! The eyeball heroes are back.. and from the trailer, it would seem like we can expect MORE heroes to discover and hopefully play and seek earthend this year! For that, it's All hail Kami!!

And finally, it's no rumor anymore... The characters from The Avengers, X-Men and Spider Man clashes once again with Street Fighters, DarkStalkers, Megaman nad Resident Evil (!) in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, to be available in PlayStation 3 by 2011.

I'm just itching to get back to gaming just for these! Special thanks to my friend Reimaru for letting me know these trailers are out!=D

Granado Espada: Reborn

Indeed it is rare for an MMORPG to have a high quality production when it comes to its OST's. And though IAHGames took some time to release one for my beloved game Granado Espada, I guess it's better late than never. Here's the Mandarin song entitled "Reborn" performed by Lin Yu Zhong & Jin Sha.

The video isn't exactly what I expected nor hoped for, but it's one for the keeps and a sign of hope that GE will indeed Reborn... :)

Gaming reads!

I haven't got any article about gaming lately and i don't think i still have on right now. So instead, here are some short reads about gaming you might find interesting. :)

"Michael Jackson considered releasing next album as a video game"
http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/michael-jackson-considered-releasing-next-album-as-a-video-game/1331676

I can't imagine how you'd make MJ grab his crotch and shouting "Yeah!" so i hope they stick with his songs just in Rockband or GuitarHero for that matter. :))

Next up:

"The $17,500 video game"
http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/the-17-500-video-game/1332488

This person sure is either on heck of a collector or he just doesn't have anything to spend his money on! Freakin' P150k+ on a 1990 game??? I hope it still works! :))

(But it's why i'm still keeping my Playstation 1 set, it doesn't really work anymore but you never know when a collector might want to buy it from me too! Say, P200k starting bid anyone?! XP)

"10 Best Robot Crotch Shots (And One Boob Shot)"
http://io9.com/5303133/10-best-robot-crotch-shots-and-one-boob-shot

Devastator's got Nards!!! =))

And lastly, get a load of the techie lola who'se rising to fame in BayanTel's latest commercial ad about her in:

"Graduate na ako sa Pacman, type ko na MMORPG :)"
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1021069586064&ref=mf

The 'Flash Bang, Flash Bang!' part honestly made me laugh! Takot na ako kay lola, hndi ko na sya kayang talunin sa Counter Strike! =))

...Your thoughts? :)

Gaming, Girls and...Boobs?!

IGN Daily Fix continues to give gamers interesting facts and info's about what's new and what's hot. And in this particular episode, they feature something truly interesting i can't help but laugh!

Welcome FF XIII and the new world of 'BOOB ADVERTISING'! Who would have thought of that one! :))

Yep you heard it right, Russian Porn Star Anna Morgan would advertise WoW in her natural DD breasts for every porn movie she makes for 2 freaggin' years! Now I wonder whether WoW fans will be busier than ever playing or would probably have their eyes OFF the PC screen when Anna Morgan finally does her thing?! :))

And speaking of boobies, randomly browsing through the ever powerful Youtube again, I saw this video by featuring some gamers asking them "Who is the Hottest Girl in Gaming?". Here's their interestingly [funny] choices by barelydigital.com!

...Chesticles! =))

Hooray for gaming and Sony!

They say 'Once a gamer, always a gamer'. And no wonder this addiction keeps stirring! Get a handful of IGN's Daily Fix as they feature some of the latest games to drool over... oh and wait 'til they show you the 'PSP Go'!

And just when I thought the best hack & slash game is over (thought the PSP version Chains of Olympus was the last to complete the Trilogy!), Kratos is back as Sony finally reveals the official Machinima trailer of which is indeed God of War III, exclusive for Play Station 3.

Anyone got a PS3 to lend me? I can't wait to try out FF IV, The Last Guardian
and God of War III!!! Way to go Sonnny!

To Earthend Patapons!

.
I finally got to finish Patapon and see for my self "IT", the goal of the game (but If you did play this game, you'd know "IT" would eventually be revealed as the sun on Earthend and it is not the "IT the Patapons are looking for.) So the Pata-pata-pata-pon rhythm continues in Patapon 2 which is set to be released 72 days from now... that's on May 05, 2009!

And before Patapon fans get impatient, reminesce on the "beat-iful" sound of Patapon!

Here's a video for Youtube on the 4 Miracle dances by our beloved eyeball followers!

And obviously not the last time we'll hear it, here's the Patapon Theme Song that played on the closing credits of the game! "Chakachakachaka popori Uhhm popori!" So kawaaaaiiii!!! XD

Online MMORPG Granado Espada launches another round of talent-based community contest giving away in-game items that are uberly rare and tempting!

Following last year's successful competition called The Fantazzztic Film Awards or FFA (making a 10 minute machina based on each week's theme), the aim now is to make a 30 second game ad following the valentine's theme! Bacchikoi, Bacchikoi Babeee!

I think one of the things that won't change in me even if I grow old is my love for anime and gaming. And with that, comes the wonderful J-songs that adds more life to it. Here are some of the great-but-not-so-famous-OST's that you might want to add in your playlist. ;)

From one of the phenomenal anime during Yu Yu Hakusho's domination, here's Flame of Recca's 2nd closing song, Zutto Kimi No Zoba De. (I miss Kurei-sama! Bwohahaha! XD)

Next up is the beloved boys with trouble in their pockets (although this song shows the sentimental part of the story). This is Alone from Gensoumaden Saiyuki.

Introduced by a friend to me and eventually became on of my most loved-anime, here's one of Midori no Hibi's soundtrack: Chiisa no Tegami (Small Letter) sang by Coorie.

And lastly, this has got to be the best ending song for Naruto... wait, for all Anime!!!XD
Coming out on Naruto Shippuuden's 91th ep, Here's the 8th closing song: Bacchikoi by Dev Parade with an epic dance move from our favorite Naruto Characters! *Side step wiggle wiggle* (Oh man, this just brings out the fountain of yooouuuttth! XD)

Moving on with the list, here are the game soundtracks ranging from console to Online Games!

From PS2, here's the RPG where strangely, Goofy and Donald are part of the characters, here's Kingdom Hearts' Hikari by my fave J-singer, Utada Hikaru.

From my previous MMORPG (yes, sadly I have said goodbye to playing it), enjoy leveling from 4-8 at Al Quelt Moreza, while listening to Granado Espada's OST: Odyssey by Kubota Omasu.

And to wrap it up, here's one from the online game Dance Battle Audition-- Stay in Me by Ji Young Suh. (I remember I love to dance to this tune, i just forgot how fast you needed to press the 9 keys so my character would do her cute dances. Oh crap, now I miss playing! =c)

...Oh, i remembered I uploaded a vid of my character dancing and doing 3 FM's (Final Movements) which was a rare case back then. Forgive me for choosing a RANDOM sexual dance move. LOL! XP If you're interested, watch it here. XD

'Til next time!~ :D

2009: Good year for RP’s gaming biz?

2009: Good year for RP’s gaming biz?
By Alex Villafania

From Inquirer.net, 01/12/2009

MANILA, Philippines--The Philippines saw good growth in the overall gaming industry last year.

Despite looming economic slowdown in the country, gaming companies are not worried.
The online game business in the country is the most successful segment in the gaming business, as it capitalized on Filipino’s community approach.

Millions of Filipinos are playing online games published by companies such as Level Up!, IP e-Games and Amped Games. There are several other publishers that have introduced new games in 2008. But the economic slowdown looms.

IPVG chief executive officer Enrique Gonzales said the economic slowdown might mean less disposable income for gamers and a slowdown in Internet usage among Filipinos.

“Publishers will be more prudent in their aggressiveness in licensing and launching content,” he said. IPVG is the parent company of IP e-Games.

Gonzales said the company is looking at a 30-percent growth for their online game business.
But he believed that the negative effects of the economic slowdown will be compensated by the perception that online gaming is an affordable entertainment.

“So all in all, online gaming is one of the ‘safe havens’ or sectors least affected by an economic downturn,” he said.

Jake San Diego, marketing director for game publishing firm Level Up! Philippines, said the free-to-play model would still play a big factor in the survivability of online gaming businesses. San Diego agreed online gaming is an inexpensive and more convenient form of entertainment.

The Level Up! Philippines executive said the company is looking at releasing new content that would grow the business in 2009. This means targeting newer markets that have yet to be tapped, he added.

Meanwhile, Filipino game development firms are taking a cautious stance in 2009. Industry organization Game Development Association of the Philippines (GDAP) is preparing for 2009, according to Gabby Dizon, GDAP President.

Dizon, also president of game development company Flipside Games, said they are monitoring effects of the economic slowdown but believe the industry is more resilient.
Local game developers are also hoping to get some windfall from offshore outsourcing projects from bigger development companies.

“We’re not seeing a rapid drop off of activity that other sectors may be facing. Cautious optimism is our guidance for 2009,” Dizon said.

Niel Dagondon, co-founder Filipino game developer Anino Entertainment, added some offshore projects were postponed or cancelled. This has forced them to fight for fewer projects. “Many game publishers are also having difficulty meeting payment obligations which would mean we have to tighten our belts,” Dagondon said.

Dagondon said Anino Entertainment is holding back on hiring new people until they have found new projects.

“We have also examined our operations and will be shifting business models, which would result in having leaner operations during the dry season,” he said.
Amid the expected economic slowdown this year, executives in the video gaming business remain optimistic.

San Diego said Level Up! Philippines is waiting for Rohan Online and Hello Kitty launch in the Philippines.

Gonzales, on the other hand, said he is hoping to see the latest Hitman game, Tekken 6 and Grand Theft Auto IV for the PS3 this year.

Meanwhile, Dagondon said he is wishing for the games Spore and Fallout 3 to arrive soon. Dizon, for his part, said he is interested in the Apple iPhone as a gaming platform and wishes that some Filipinos would create games for this platform.

Super Mario dethroned!

Wii Sports is best-selling game ever
Jock blockbuster topples Mario.
By Ben Silverman

VS.

Well, that didn't take long.

According to game-tracking website VGChartz, sales of Nintendo's pop-culture phenom Wii Sports have surpassed those of legendary platformer Super Mario Bros., making the breakout Wii title the best-selling video game of all time. And it only took two years and two months to do it.

The data is based on cumulative worldwide sales figures ending the week of December 27, 2008, which indicate that lifetime sales of Wii Sports have exceeded Mario's staggering 40.24 million units.

Shocked? Don't be. Unlike most video games that can be bought at retail, Wii Sports comes bundled with the Wii hardware in every territory other than Japan and Korea. In other words, if you bought a Wii, you bought Wii Sports whether you liked it or not (chances are, you liked it). With over 45 million Wiis sold worldwide to date, it's only logical that Wii Sports would start smashing records sooner or later.

And before you brand Wii Sports a false champion due to being bundled with hardware, consider that Super Mario Bros. was also sold as a bundle with the original Nintendo Entertainment System during its mid-80's heyday. Plus, Wii Sports has been a major hit even in non-bundled form, topping Wii sales charts in Japan at over 3.2 million copies sold in 2008 alone.

A new version of the game, Wii Sports: Resort, is due out later this year.

The Zombies are alive!!!

.
The Zombies are alive!!!

Resident Evil Animation: Degeneration

Because fans just couldn't get enough of best surviving-horror game, Capcom has finally delivered it's first full-length CG (Computer Generated) Animation of Resident Evil in Biohazard: Degeneration!

Starring the loved duo of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, they once again face the horror of what was left of Raccoon City: The T-virus spreading because of an enraged man swearing to take revenge on his way... by injecting the G-virus on himself and thus wreck havoc together with the other slithering zombies.

I'm really not a fan of horror games (they freak me out! >.<) but I find the CG Animation flawless, making each character human (not to mention zombies!) look so real. They're still frightful enough to give me a yip as the story and action lets you discover more about the virus and if it can ever be treated.

Fortunately, even if non-RE fans watch this, they would still somehow enjoy it because some background about the origins of the story/virus has been revealed and I think anyone who would watch Degeneration has also watched the Hollywood version of Resident Evil (RE 1, RE 2: Apocalypse and RE 3: Extinction) starring Mila Jovovich as the fictional RE-heroine Alice.

Although the CG movie is set in the same universe as the original game series, it won't seem to be part of future RE series as to keep the hour and a half of pure bite and shoot galore unique yet RE to the core!

The movie was released last October 18, 2008 (under Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan [they were first again?!]) but is now up for grabs in DVD. Here's the trailer to stir things up and make you want to go and pop some zombie heads again:

And the fun doesn't end there! The latest outbreak of evil is about to be released this March 2009 as Resident Evil goes on it's FIFTH series in PS3! It's "Ohh yeah" to the fans and "I-gotta-sum-up-the-courage-and-try-this-aaaaagggh!" for me! XD

Read more about it in it's official site or from IGN.

Super Mario is not dead!

Do you remember the time when Super Mario was ever so popular in the Nintendo Family Computer? Then it had a NES version, released in Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, had a 50 cent-Arcade, then invaded Game boy (Color & Advanced) and recently in DS and Wii. But not so long ago when the computer was the 'new' platform for gaming, the Mario Brothers has also continued to evolve, adapt, occupy and well, continue to rescue Princess Peach in PC gaming!

Super Mario Bro's (c) 1985.
Platform: Famicom/NES
(Crap, it's older than me! =.=")

I missed the time I was playing Super Mario World in Famicom... Yes, 1993 Famicom! XD It was definitely a long adventure with it's 72 stages (From Yoshi's Land to Star World) and honestly, I really didn't get to finish it and again, save the always-kidnapped princess. XD

Super Mario World (c) 1990.
Platform: Super Famicom

And since it's impossible for someone not to know Super Mario game (or unless you were born yesterday), I won't dig deeper on this over-rated but well-reputed game. Instead, I'd rather share you some of the not-so-classic version of Super Mario Bro's and relive the days when Yoshi-riding, mushroom stomping, Spin-jumping, Fire flower, Castle blowing (...you get the point) was as cool as getting the Sparkling Invincible Star!

Searching through the web, I found some some interesting sites that offers Super Mario PC Games. Although I seriously doubt you'll like the graphics (since nothing much has changed since the NES release), if you just really want to try out Mario and Luigi again, wouldn't hurt to try right?

From Free-Games.com: Super Mario PC Challenge 6
I wouldn't expect much if I were you. XD

From PC World: Super Mario: FINAL
Trustworth site, lame graphics for the game. LOL.

From Acid-Play.com: Super Mario 3: Mario Forever
A 9 out of 10 rating (By players), I couldn't be too sure if it's an almost-perfect game for the PC version... haven't downloaded it myself. But it looks interesting... meh.

From Gametop.com: Super Mario Forever
...Now this is what I want to play! (No pun or biase intended) :D

And to sum it up, If your craving for Super Mario Bro's wasn't quenched by a quick PC Game, there's always the nicer version released in DS, well, that is if you have one. =.="

Oh and you could look for the classic games where Princess Peach or Yoshi is the main character you play... Just for a change. XP

New Super Mario Bro's (c) 2006.
