. Just when I thought my blog posts for the year has ended, here I am again on my last hurrah, featuring some of the latest songs I know out there. Keep your playlist fresh, as they say cleaning out the clutter invites positive aura for the the new year to come! :D
The princess of pop proves that even though you're a momma, sex sells with just the body and the booty to show in Britney Spears' latest song called 3.
Rihanna is rocking her [bizarre] new hair and [weird military] fashion in her latest single Hardfeaturing Young Jeezy from her latest album "Rated R". (Makes me think if Lady Gaga's fashion is starting to get in Rihanna's system) back to back with another video recently released called Russian Roulette.
Korean music or "K-pop" as it is being called is finally being accepted in the country. With artists such as the Wonder Girls and 2NE1 being hot here in the Philippines, a new girl group is emerging and they are 4Minutewith their latest single Muzik.
And to end this wonderful year that was 2009, here's my closing blog post with songs from 30 Seconds to Mars' new album This is War (Exclusive song for Dragon Age: Origins game) which released two great songs impossible not to climb up the hit charts! Here's the album cover and the current song I can't get off my head, Kings and Queens.
One of the things that's part of my top 5 things in life are Live concerts... And these upcoming tours in RP happening the first three months of the new year are sending sweet chills down my spine!
2010 opens with a big bang as the Gentleman Ne-Yo goes back to the Philippines for his second concert tour (which would seem to be another full house as similar to his Feb 2008 performance) which will happen on January 9 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
Now you know where your Christmas money will go. :p
Post-Hardcore/ Alternative Rock band Saosin will be rocking the stage of A-Venue Hall in Makati on January 22 (Friday), 8pm for only P1,000 per entrance fee. Knowing the place, it's small and cramped so you better get there early to be in the front row people! It's Saosin!!! Here's my personal favorite song of theirs: Seven Years.
Boys Like Girls goes back to back with House/ trance music of Hed Kandi brand on January 27 (Wednesday), 8pm at the SMX Convention Center Halls 1 & 2! Ticket prices are at P3,696 (VIP) and P1,796 (Gold) both of which are standing.
If you might recall, BLG's first tour here would have been together with Katy Perry's supposedly "first" performance last Oct. 3, 2009 but was unfortunately put on delay because of the Typhoon Ondoy which struck the Philippines back then. Although it's somewhat an unlikely combination for the pop-punk band to mix with glam disco music, we never know...i t might turn out to be a great music after all right? (But honestly I'm still skeptic about this but I like the artists so I might as well give them the benefit of the doubt and think about watching the show!)
January 31 will mark a full concert ground as The Killers will be performing that Sunday in Mall of Asia's concert grounds at 8pm.
All seat locations are standing. *A special holiday promo of 20% discount for Silver and Bronze is held by Ticketnet outlets for ticket purchases done until Dec. 31.
Promoters of the new hit band Owl City seems to have booked a our in RP too early despite only one song of them has been a part of the hit charts. But there are still a lot of days to go to see more of this Synthpop/Electronica band's releases. Let's just hope it's as good as Fireflies.
Their tour will be held on March 14 (Sunday), 8pm at the SMX Convention Center Halls 1 &2.
All tickets to mentioned events above are available via SM/ Ticketnet outlets.
And lastly, the undeniably growing K-pop fandom is attracting actual K-pop band 4Minute to perform here on February 4. Although not as famous---YET as the Wonder Girls with their "Nobody" or 2NE1's "Fire", they certainly have the Muzik and the attitude for it!
How I wish these were what I asked Santa for Christmas!XO
. There are just a lot of movies that still needs to be featured, I guess I'm not through!
The rumor I've picked up on my 2009 Movie preview post has come true! A darker, more sophisticated version of the greatest detective ever known (or written, for that matter), Sherlock Holmes is set to come out in the big screens this Jan. 8, 2010 with big stars shuck as Robert Downey Jr. (Holmes), Jude Law (as the trusted number two, Dr. Watson), Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong.
I'm just hoping the movie will show more of Holme's intellectual prowess rather than an action sequence which ironically seems to have dominated the trailer. (And weird enough I haven't pictured Downey as Holmes).
My favorite martial arts comedian Jackie Chan is back as The Spy Next Door in this movie somewhat similar to 'The Pacifier' (Vin Diesel), with less muscle but more of the a**-kicking moves.
Next up, love stories doesn't just come in February. Love Happens is about a widower whose book about coping with loss turns him into a best-selling self-help guru. On a business trip to Seattle, he falls for a woman who attends one of his seminars, only to learn that he hasn't yet truly confronted his wife's passing. Starring Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston, the movie is bound to show on January 27.
(How I'm hoping this isn't as corny as Aniston's previuos movie the Management. Ugh. Total disaster. ~_~")
And for the love of Eywa, if you haven't watched James Cameron'sAvatar yet, YOU ARE MISSING IT OUT MY FRIEND! I highly recommend i, best in 3D with a bag of munchies and a strong bladder ('coz you really won't get up from your seat just so you won't miss anything!) ;)
To close the 2009 movie posts, here's something from Y! Movies: See the movies that top them all in Top 10 Box Office movies of 2009!
More preview posts to come on 2010! Make watching all these movies a part of your resolution!
. It's a month full of celebrations to be happy about it and that means food, vacation and holidays! But aside from that, a new year is just around the corner and lot of good movies are in store for all movie-lovers! Check out these trailers I've been able to take a peak at and can't wait to see!
Get your dose of action in the re-make of the 1981 fantasy adventure film based on the myth of Perseus that is making old and new fans anticipate Clash of the Titans showing this March 26, 2010.
Some might think this is a spoof, others, another taint at the vampire image we used to know. Well Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is indeed different as it shows its distinctive characteristic on a vampire that is based on author Darren Shan's "Vampire Blood Trilogy", a 12-book saga for young adults.
It has long been showed in the US but due to the MMF's, The Vampire's Assistant is late and will be showing in cinemas on Jan. 27, 2010.
Find the fun in an epidemic of the undead as Zombieland gives you the hunter, the hunted and the scared showing this Jan 8.
Why do I find their poster seemingly similar to Left 4 Dead [1] game characters? (Even genre here though).
Based on the book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis, the movie adaptation features the extraordinary true story of the American football player Michael Oher (played by Quinton Aaron), who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. The movie also stars a blonde Sandra Bullock playing Oher's adopted mother.
Also showing on Jan. 27 (I actually got to watch this movie already and it is truly a touching and recommended movie to watch).
"After God loses faith in humanity, the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) is the only one standing between mankind and the apocalypse. This time using angels as the act of Biblical judgment, God's wrath descends on Earth to exterminate the world's population. In a desperate, last-chance gambit, Michael leads a group of strangers to a small New Mexico diner to protect a young waitress who may be pregnant with Christ in His second coming."
And to end this long feature of great movies to watch out for, here's Walt Disney's latest production The Princess and the Frog, the timeless story of well, the Princess and the Frog (and you'd be so lame if you didn't know about that).
But needless to say, despite it being the famous fairy tale by the Grimm Brothers, we're still expecting this movie to come up with it's own twist and bring out the child in everyone of us... at least for those who are up to watching this kind of animated movies (although i don't have any idea when this is going to be shown though).
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
. There is no rest for the wicked... and so is with Music. I've only rested from looking at the billboard charts for the past week and I already got some catching up to do! And just in case I'm not the only person around in need of updating, here's 5 songs to keep your ears in tune!
You'd prolly hear this a lot in the radio or someone else singing it. Fireflies by the Owl City is such a hit I was wondering how come it took some time to make it's way mainstream. Here's the song that doesn't really make much sense in the lyrics but still makes you sing along with it.
Newcomer Jason Derulo will keep his song looping in your head and your head banging to the beat! Here's Watcha Say climbing up the charts.
Get stuck with this song and keep it on Replay as IYAZ followed byKe$ha's Tik Tok (Tick Tock) gets you in the groove with these songs that are both on the top 5 of the current hit charts!
Lastly, 13-year old Justin Beiber sings One Timeand becomes a hit with his charming puppy love... are we seeing the next Nick Carter?
. Sometimes when music artists collab, they either make it or break it. In this instance, here are some videos where big names in the industry namelymake semi-related songs and one just makes it but the other one just fails!
Beyonce ft. Lady Gaga - Video Phone
Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce - Telephone
And the verdict? I think both songs has a tune that give you a bit of a groove, but Beyonce's version is a fail yet again for many distinguishable reasons:
1) The lyrics doesn't make sense. Seriously, did you even listen to it? 2) Which brings me to the point where in the sounds of the actual video gets an inconsistent volume decrease and increase. Is that really supposed to be part of the whole video phone? 3) And lastly, the video is just a huge "???". I get the whole let'ss-try-a-new-concept thing but it doesn't really work in this video! Beyonce trying to be Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga trying to be Beyonce (Pulleaaze! I hardly got to recognize Lady Gaga without her over-the-top fashion) ...not a fun mix.
Lady Gaga's rendition was better, clearer and I can't wait to see the video despite the expected eccentricity that's bound to be seen in her vids.
Next collaborations are for NBA superstar LeBron James's upcoming movie "More Than A Game" which follow his life's tribulation and journey to fame while having a lot of interesting OST's. I've only picked two out of those to feature but you can check out the rest of the track here.
Ester Dean ft. Chris Brown - Drop It Low
Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem - Forever
(Unfortunately video is not available for embedding so just watch it here.)
Now for these set, i don't really think I have a problem with them. The songs were wonderful and would fit the idea of LeBron's movie. I could only point out Chris Brown and Kanye West who are given a second chance to redeem themselves after their own issues, hoping they don't fail this time.
Just my two cents.
(Oh I almost didn't get to mention Eminem was so good looking here! *laughs*)
